Gym Day

Yesterday we went to visit the cousins down in Moreno Valley, and we went to an open gym hour at a gymnastics academy---lots of kids running around like crazy on trampolines, moonwalks, swings and tons of other fun gymnastics equipment. It took a few minutes for Ellie to warm up to the idea, and frankly, to figure everything out, I think (she is such a thinker!), but she soon got the hang of it and LOVED it. We will definitely be going back! I will have to get more pics next time--Mama was needed to help her along and get the hang of things! These few pics I did get are on the running trampoline, which is by far her most favoritist thing to do there. She would hop like a bunny and say "hop-hop!" So cute. :)

Little Artist

One of LittleBirdy's favorite activities lately is coloring. She will literally do this for over an hour. I know. I timed it! She uses stickers as part of the picture sometimes, and usually makes Mama or Nana or the sitter draw various pictures, (dog, cat, tiger, lion, Flowers), and then she draws over them. In just a couple of weeks she's gone from tentative little squiggles to very dark and confident scribbles. Louvre, here we come. 

March 2011

March is turning out to be a beautiful start to Spring, and we started Mama's Spring Break with a park day. She is getting so big and walking and climbing everywhere on her own! The slide is still scary without Mama going down with her, but the swing makes everything better. Add a little "FWA-wer" hunting in, and it's the perfect day. 

January 2011

On a beautiful day in January (one bright day in a marathon of rainy ones) we took the opportunity to set up the back yard in anticipation of SPRING! Mama set up the new sand table, a super gift from Nana and Papa, and Ellie went to town, along with chalk drawing. The pictures are pretty clear in telling the story of her first encounter with sand---she tried to eat it several times! The nasty texture and taste did in no way deter her from trying it again....and again. Mama to the rescue with the water. What a fun afternoon, and how thankful we were for the Sunshine.
